The Toronto District School Board and the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity are excited to announce a Middle School conference for questioning and queer and trans spectrum TDSB students and their allies!
The EnVision conference focuses on identity, self-acceptance, navigating relationships, dealing with and overcoming homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, transmisogyny, bullying, intersectional oppression, and discrimination in our schools and communities. It’s a full day of workshops, activities, speakers, and resources and a space to meet other people!
If your school has a gay straight-alliance, queer-straight alliance, gender justice group, equity club or a group of engaged students interested in social justice and healthy relationships, this conference is for you. We welcome you to join the conversation in how to create safer schools and how to build skills to form and maintain healthy relationships with yourself and others.
This conference will give you the opportunity to:
-Connect with other questioning, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, non-binary, gender-queer, gender-fluid and straight youth from across the TDSB
-HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD IN AN OPEN-SPACE FORUM (more details coming soon!)
-Learn how to create a school that meets your needs
-How to be an ally
-Explore your own identities and your relationship to yourself
-Learn how to create healthier relationship behaviours in your life based on awareness, respect and consent
Envision will take place on November 15, 2017 at Central Technical School (725 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON M5S 2R5) and is FREE for all participants!
Registration is open NOW!
*Students will arrive at 8am for registration. The Conference will go all day until 3pm.*
